In Greek mythology Ganymede being the most beautiful of the mortals was abducted by the eagle of the Greek God Zeus and taken to the home of the Gods at Mount Olympus. He was then given eternal youth and immortality, and served as the cupbearer to the Gods. The original mosaic is titled "The Rape of Ganymede". It has a plain-weave, is smooth, absolutely sheer with a subtle silky sheen, drapes well yet feels weightless against the skin. While the scarf is hanging a steam iron can be used carefully avoiding wetting locally.
